Hi,
I’m really glad you found your way here.
I’m 75 years old, and I live in a van.
Not as a vacation. Not as a phase. This is my life.
This Substack is where I write about what that actually looks like—
the quiet days, the hard days, and everything in between.
You’ll read stories about survival, homelessness in America, and what it means to start over later in life when most people think your story is already finished.
If you’re here, there’s probably a reason.
Maybe you’ve had to start over yourself.
Maybe you’re trying to understand a life most people never see.
Or maybe something in you just knows these stories matter.
If you’d like a place to begin, you can start here:
• My story → (1) No Fixed Address: The Rise of Women Living Alone in Vans
• A recent day from the road → https://www.graycampervanwriter.com/publish/posts/detail/192138247
Some posts are free.
Some go deeper—for those who want to support this work and follow the full journey as it unfolds.
If you believe stories like this should be told, your support helps me stay on the road—and keep telling the truth.
Thank you for being here.

Absolutely needs to be told! People need to know what’s happening to the elderly mostly women. They have been forgotten!
