Some RV/Van Dwellers establish residency in a few states like South Dakota. You only have to go there once a year to maintain your residency. You have a mail forwarding service that sends your mail to wherever you are. You can get a mail-in ballot sent to you if that option continues to be available.

It’s like an unorganized retirement village. You live with people your age and look out for each other, and you can mostly avoid the global insanity, for now. If I didn’t have my dogs, I’d be tempted to follow, now that Starlink and solar panels exist.

Dogs can go. We have two dogs and lived in the RV. They love it.

Yeah, I’d take them in an RV. Here, I was talking about in a van.

People have pets out here. Some are mobile, some are semi- permanent and others are permanent campers. Do the research, watch YouTube channels that have both single men and single women. And couples. They reside in cars, vans, schoolies, truck campers class c and larger motorhomes. . The rules have changed a lot if RV parks have a 10 yr rule about the age of your camper. Some allow a certain number of pets.. Some campground parks do/ or don't have laundromats, free Wi-Fi some dont. I've seen horse people travel with their horses, their horse trailer has also a camper, traveling nurses in their cars, traveling workers in a variety sizes of campers, motorhomes and Tiny Houses, some live in house boats. Some have ATVs or motorcycles too. Sometimes boats. I'm a permanent camper, for the past 8 years. I have several cats. It may not be for you, but you can start small, like a weekend trip. I hear there are safe facebook groups to travel with that are geared towards men only and women only some are mixed ages and married couples, too. Also many now are part time adventurers, they keep a permanent address. You may decide not to travel,j but ust down size find property that is zoned for a Tiny house or camper.

If I didn't live in a Canadian city where it's winter for 7-8 months of the year, I would definitely opt for this lifestyle. I'm in my 50s and have to move sometime this year, and it is SOUL CRUSHING to know that I'll have to spend $1800-2000 on a 1 bdrm apartment 😞 And there are no alternatives. I currently share a home and I'm still paying $1750. I would love to say f**k it and be able to go mobile!

I’ll be able to afford rent, I own my home now. But I’m looking forward to the road. It’s different when you’re there by choice rather than default, I know. I’m lucky.

That is so sad and I’m living in hud assisted And the trajectory the budget cuts are happening. It’s only a matter of time before millions more of us are out on the streets there’s chatter that there’s a 40% reduction to their budget in the next years Budget

I have lived in a RV the past three years. We have just recently moved out but I enjoyed it. The only problem I had was no room and too rural. I needed to be closer to town.
