For the Faint of Heart... You May Want to Look Away
Thirty Stories about starting over, one truth at a time.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the stories we never tell.
Not because they aren’t important. Usually it’s because they’re too uncomfortable. Too personal. Too close to the bone.
Over the next few months, I’m going to change that.
I’m beginning a 30-part series about what it really looks like to start over again. Not the polished version. Not the inspirational quotes. The real version.
These stories come from a life that has been messy, beautiful, heartbreaking, and full of unexpected turns. Some will make you smile. Some may make you uncomfortable. A few may remind you of places in your own life you’d rather forget.
That’s okay.
The older I get, the more I believe that healing begins the moment we stop pretending everything has always been fine.
You’ll read about fear, freedom, failure, hope, loneliness, old dreams that refused to die, and the strange peace that comes when you finally stop living by everyone else’s expectations. You’ll meet the gray camper van, quiet porches filled with the sound of cicadas, long roads, hard decisions, and the moments that quietly changed the direction of my life.
I don’t have all the answers.
I’m still figuring things out one sunrise at a time.
But if you’re wondering whether it’s too late to begin again... whether your best chapter might still be waiting... then I hope you’ll walk beside me.
This series isn’t for people looking for perfect lives.
It’s for people looking for honest ones.
Part 1 arrives Tuesday. August 11, 2026.
Bring a cup of coffee.
I’ll bring the truth.
Kindly—Carol

Thank you.
Looking forward to it!! I’m in my 60’s and starting over. Kids are grown, and I can’t afford to buy another house… and I’m stunned by the cost of rent. When I was younger, I always wanted to do this. Don’t know if I’m physically capable, but I’m up for the challenge! Definitely interested in hearing about the pros and cons, and experiences of this!
