Ways to Entertain Yourself While Camping in all Kinds of Remote Places

Social media can entertain you while camping.

What do you do for entertainment while camping?

I usually travel alone in my camper van with two small dogs for companionship. Even though, my dogs are 11 and 15 years old, they require a certain amount of my care.

After taking care of their basic needs, I often check in on my various social media accounts to check in for comments and read new material.

I’m active on Quora, Medium, Pinterest, Linkedin, and Substack. All of these platforms require several hours of my time each day. However, I don’t want social media to run my life, so I schedule my time with each platform and set limits.

Besides enjoying social media, I enjoy other things in life that are simple and not dependent on technology.

For entertainment, I enjoy lite traveling, meeting interesting people who are down to earth and positive minded.

Outside of reading and writing, I like creating photography and mounting pictures on various objects like rocks, wood, and pretty paper.

While camping, I entertain myself in the same way as I do living in my stick built home.

I may watch a movie on Netflix, listen to classic country music, browse Facebook, or go for a walk.

Recently, I discovered Tiktok and amuse myself with various people singing some of my favorite songs. They make me smile and I could watch them entertain me for hours, but I can’t afford to spend my time recklessly.

I’d rather write stories and manage my Substack newsletter.

I like to cook over an outdoor fire, while listening to music or a podcast. And I prefer to create something with my hands, like sharpening knives or sanding wood.

Doing repetitive motions like sanding wood or polishing brass helps me think about writing and creating characters for my stories.

Being that I’m a country woman, I I don’t care much for going out to restaurants, bars, casinos, or any big social gatherings. I use to do those things when I was younger, but now days since the coming of social media, I enjoy connecting virtually with like-minded people.

I feel we are all blessed to have social media to entertain us.

We must use social media responsibily or we will harm our health.

Anyone who wants to travel and camp can be entertained with social media, meeting new people, sight seeing, or just enjoying nature. Tik tok is entertaining, but can steal your time if you don’t set limits.
