Time to get some altitude. Move up the hill where the climate suits your clothes.

Absolutely move to cooler places. But if some folks are working a job, they may have to tough out the hot weather.

We camped so many nights in the Sonoran Desert. But it was always in the winter months, when the nights got cold. I can’t even imagine trying to make it in 100 degree weather at night! Do you ever consider driving somewhere cooler? Or do your work and friends and family keep you there? I know Flagstaff has some great free camping places and is cool enough in summer. And showers at the Y there are good!

thats what i was thinking too. if youre mobile why stay somewhere so hot

Yes, I move up around Flagstaff in the middle of summer or I go south toward Louisiana. I usually don't stay in the desert year round. I like to be where it rains and thunderstorms.

But the Sonoran has it's own special kind of beauty that I enjoy.

Yes the Sonoran Deseet does! And monsoons are beautiful there….such special scents and colors.

Hi Emery,

I'm glad you're here. Yes, I practice safety every day and so far everything is going fine. And I hope life is good to you too.

It's been better than when I saw you after so long in 2020. After working in the oilfield and going back and forth from midland TX to Tucson AZ to Shreveport la, I moved back to Colorado on a whim back in 2024 and not I've been doing maintenance and living at this apartment complex in Northern Colorado. Hard to believe so much has happened since I last saw you. I'm very grateful

I spent 18 mos. In the high desert in the NE part of Az. Check it out..lots of nice places to rent or camp for your RV. PLUS! THE humidity is very low and never over 95deg F

Thank you mary Jo for that information. I will check it out.

I should have mentioned Holbrook, Snowflake(Walmart) &,Vernon are a few places south of the National Park and I-40.

Flagstaff is a bit pricey. You could stand on the corner in Winslow😉. Personally I loved it 'out there.'

Wasn’t there a popular song by the Eagles and Winslow, Az back in the 70’s??

Yes I was there in April in 115 F no AC suddenly it stopped and couldn't be fixed. So I drove up to Flagstaff there are many places for free to park, it's on the app iOverlander.

Have you been up there Carol?
