How I Stay Safe Living and Traveling Alone
Solo life on the road (or at home) means you become your own security team, and honestly, I’ve made peace with that. Here’s how I do it.
Locked doors, always. Day or night, moving or parked, my doors stay locked. It sounds simple, but it’s one of those habits that pays off twice: it’s genuinely a smart safety practice, and it also just gives me peace of mind. The second my feet hit the ground when I step out of the vehicle, the doors are locked behind me. No exceptions, no “I’ll just be a minute.” That kind of consistency is what makes a habit actually work — you don’t have to think about it, you just do it.
