AMEN! I'm a retired Special Education teacher of 15 plus years. I went back to work after retirement, but was laid off this past March, due to the pandenmic. The public education system is pathetic. And yes, why should a politiction who's never been a teacher in the classroom, be allowed to call all the shots for teachers who have to face a host of day to day problems with all kinds of disciplinary, ADHD, disrespect and so many that I don't want to mention in this post. It was not worth the risk of my health and independence to go back to work after the pandemic, especially since noone enforces the laws of wearing a mask and hand washing. I miss my co-workers and the students, but my health is my first priority. Thanks for sharing.
