Age is Just a Number: You Are as Old or as Young as You Wanna Be
“How old are you?” asked a little five-year-old blonde-haired girl.
“How old are you?” asked a little five-year-old blonde-haired girl.

“I turned 71 years old last May 26, 2021.” I replied.
“You’re old.” said the little girl.
“I don’t feel old. I can do anything that you can do. Would you like to play with me? What would you like to do first, play house, jump rope or make mud pies?” I asked.
“ I want to do everything that you do.” said the little girl. I just smiled to myself.
You can be as young as you wanna be
Society has labeled us as senior citizens once we pass a certain age. We’re lured with senior discounts to spend our retirement monies to fund the economy. Even though I don’t like being labeled as a senior citizen, I will ask for a senior discount when I stop by McDonalds for a cup of coffee.
Recently, I drove through our local McDonalds here in Shreveport and parked and went inside to buy a small cup of coffee. The server told me, “that will be $1.30.”
I said, “last Monday, I paid 64 cents for a small cup.”
The server replied, “you have to ask for a senior discount, McDonalds doesn’t just offer it to you.”
I smiled at her and said, “WOW, do I look that young?” I pulled 64 cents out of my pocket and handed it to her, smiled and said “have a blessed day.”
I learned something new. I guess I have to state I’m a “Senior Citizen” if I want to pay less for a cup of coffee, or better still, make my own coffee at home.
Think Old! Be Old!
It’s a mindset. I don’t feel any older at 71 than I did at 50. I’m just a little wiser and I’ve learned not to repeat some mistakes I’ve made in my past. But I still make mistakes. Please don’t think I’m perfect, because I’m not by a long shot. Live and learn — make mistakes — and try again. It’s all part of life.
As long as we have life in us, we need to adventure out into unchartered waters and explore new possibilities. There is no set age limit where we cannot learn something new.
There’s no Need to Stress Over Being Another Year Older
Life is a gift, and it’s what we make out of it that counts. I’ve learned the art of living by being grateful for family, friends, and being free to choose my own happiness. Yes, growing older comes with a few negatives, but it’s all about adopting the right attitude dealing with it all.
Age is only a number. You can be as old or as young as you think. Just take what you have and live life to the fullest. It’s important to have something that you’re interested in. While using self-discipline, you can achieve contentment and make progress for a more serene life style. Be yourself, respect others, mix with younger people and lend them a helping hand, then you will start feeling younger instantly.
